What we reach out for.
We wanted petals, but got blood.
What we thought was beauty, was hurt disguised in happiness.
So be careful little hands and little hearts of what you reach out for.
Be careful of settling down for lesser things just because you hate being empty-handed.
Maybe sometimes your hand needs to clench its fingers to a fist,
And stop reaching.
But sometimes, you need to stretch your feet and tip toe
so you can reach out more,
A little further, a few more inches.
And maybe for you to do that
You have to open your tight fist,
your closed heartgates, the doors of your mind,
Let go and don't be afraid
To reach, reach and reach
And reach out in faith.
And I'll be praying for you
So you'll find something beautiful at the other end,
The kind of beauty that doesn't leave you with scars,
Beauty soft like flowers and petals
Soft like the tips of your fingers,
Warm like your hands,
Sturdy like your feet.
Brave like your heart.
Nice work
