HEAVEN

Heaven is a place inside of us. Heaven isn't "heaven" because of the beautiful gardens, the bright skies, the golden light, the smooth roads. Heaven is heaven because that's where God is. His presence can turn the roughest places into heaven.                                                   "Wherever you go, I will be with you"                      God breathe these words out so we can have heaven inside of us. Though, we cannot fully be aware of His presence now, but we can know in parts, in pieces and for now that's more than enough. 
       Believe it or not that small piece of heaven we have now is the only thing that can give us peace in such a chaotic world. It can give healing, purpose and satisfaction. How much more will Heaven be. 
       Heaven is His presence and it will give you life after death and life during life. Heaven is the destination and the journey and the heaven we carry inside us is a testament to our faith. 
    Emmanuel. God with us. Heaven in us.

    According to Islamic beliefs seeing Allah (a.k.a father in heaven) is the biggest gift in heaven and his presence will make us so contempt that even heaven will pale in front of him.

Wrestle with God

I love it when I finally understand something about God, when I look at my life and see His goodness, when something about being close to Him makes sense... But Life happens. Grief introduces itself. Heartbreak knocks on the door. Questions sleep in your bed. Then, I wrestle with God. I struggle with Him. It is so incredibly profound to meet Him then, to meet Him with anger and sorrow in my heart, To meet Him even when I don't want to. To meet Him in the messiness of my life, Not as Someone I trust or understand or even love, But as Someone who is proving Himself to be God regardless of what my feelings are... I meet Him then, in humility, open to His works, Open to His mysteries.  The Light, thus, shine brightest in the face of darkness.

Damn This Life

Penned a lot of words and metaphors but they all flew away, Collected pieces of myself I found by the shore but the tides stole them all. I wear my heart on my sleeves, So when I break, I break like the waves; A thousand droplets scattered into the ocean, All for me to find. Damn this life, and the little progress I've made, Damn these fears that shoved me to the cliff, Damn these shackles on my ankles sinking me to the abyss.
