The Control Of Man And The Chaos of God

    I am a person with a mind, hence with thoughts, hence with ideas, hence with anxieties. My coping mechanism is to think of a plan and another plan as backup, and a dozen of other backup plans for my backup plan. I like to be in control. I like to calculate the odds and the evens. I like to make everything known. I am a human being.   
    There is a God. A God who seems to me as if He does His planning in a completely different manner than I do. A God who knows the odds and likes going against them. A God who seems to me like He enjoys taking risks and crazy chances. A God who seems as if He enjoys flipping tables and man's ideas upside down. He is God and He thinks far differently than humans do. 
   The control of man has to give way for the "chaos" of God. God has called us to give up our will to follow His, to give up what we know for something we don't, to replace our constants with His variables, to quit our step-by-step plans and start walking in faith...God is insanely and chaotically way beyond our comprehension. He'd rather split the sea than provide a boat, He'd rather resurrect than arrive on time, He'd rather die than give up on a man who might never love him back. 
So make way for God... 
He will bring control to your chaos
And chaos to your control. 
He will flip your life upside down, 
And set it straight, set it free. 
For once in your life,
Take a chance,
Give Him a chance.

Wrestle with God

I love it when I finally understand something about God, when I look at my life and see His goodness, when something about being close to Him makes sense... But Life happens. Grief introduces itself. Heartbreak knocks on the door. Questions sleep in your bed. Then, I wrestle with God. I struggle with Him. It is so incredibly profound to meet Him then, to meet Him with anger and sorrow in my heart, To meet Him even when I don't want to. To meet Him in the messiness of my life, Not as Someone I trust or understand or even love, But as Someone who is proving Himself to be God regardless of what my feelings are... I meet Him then, in humility, open to His works, Open to His mysteries.  The Light, thus, shine brightest in the face of darkness.

Damn This Life

Penned a lot of words and metaphors but they all flew away, Collected pieces of myself I found by the shore but the tides stole them all. I wear my heart on my sleeves, So when I break, I break like the waves; A thousand droplets scattered into the ocean, All for me to find. Damn this life, and the little progress I've made, Damn these fears that shoved me to the cliff, Damn these shackles on my ankles sinking me to the abyss.
